Glenapp Castle
“Glenapp Castle” exudes history and luxury in striking Scottish Baronial style, built back in 1870 by the renowned architect David Bryce on behalf of James Hunter, the then deputy Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire.
In classic Bryce design, the castle boasts soaring turrets and towers, on rich sandstone battlements.
The exceptional grounds spread over a 36 acre estate, a veritable wonder of unusual plants, including an azalea pond, a walled garden with an impressive Victorian glasshouse, growing fresh herbs and fruit used daily in the castle kitchen for wonderfully delectable meals, topped off by fresh cut flowers adorning every room of this stupendous country manor.
Guests can enjoy scenic walks through the surrounding woodlands, or visit the neighbouring local Spa for relaxing and invigorating massage treatments. Nearby, the pristine pebble beach at the fishing village Ballantrae offers magnificent views of Ireland and the island Ailsa Craig.
All guestrooms are traditionally and invitingly appointed, with excellent period piece antiques and original paintings for a true Scottish Castle experience.
Evening dinner is no exception, with six course gourmet menus sure to delight and please the senses.
